So who were the mugs on here that wanted Rio back?
I seem to recall plenty on here were advocating the return of billy big bollocks Rio Ferdinad this summer, presumably in place of Tomkins?

Now what bothers me is it was obvious to anyone with a clue that he was finished at the top level, as we have now seen with his embarrassing performances with QPR, but many here wanted the old man back?

So come on, who were you? Let's not be shy now..

Mugs.

I would have taken him back. Not in place of anyone though. I still think we're short 1 centre half.

I'd also take Caulker for the right price too and he's part of the same defence.

If you see the game yesterday, and other QPR games previously, the defence get fuck all protection from the players in front.

I wanted to see him back...Though he was gash yesterday, which is probably why i'm not a football maanger. Though i would be the bollocks if i was.

Re: So who were the mugs on here that wanted Rio back?
To be fair... He is shit these days.

Nowhere near his former self... Hence the reason he's playing for a club rock bottom of the Premier League.

Should have hung them up.

Commentator said either of that pair have never been booked, I found that hard to believe?

Re: So who were the mugs on here that wanted Rio back?
Why do people love pointless point scoring on here?

It's all about opinions and Rio would probably be a far better player with better players around him so it's irrelevant.

Plus he would have come to us as a squad player and someone that the likes of Tomkins, Burke and even Reid could learn from and respect.

Pagey - That's poor. Anyone with a clue knew he was finshed. Simple.

Re: So who were the mugs on here that wanted Rio back?
I don't think the commentator said Rio had never been booked, just that he hasn't been booked for a very long time (80 or 90-odd games, iirc).

Re: So who were the mugs on here that wanted Rio back?
indicative of the sky generation this

1 good game = world beater, what a signing etc (see valencia v hull)

1 bad game = shit, finished, awful etc (see joe hart)

To be honest mate you are the one that sounds like a mug trying to point score on an Internet forum.

I wanted him back as 4th choice, on a pay as you play deal with a view to move into a coaching role as he is moving his family down to Kent to be with the rest of the family and he want to eventually move into management, preferably in London.

But yeah, you win, mug.

Penners - Are you a bit thick? He has been shit all season and cost them goals in 2 previous games...stop talking bollocks.

Re: So who were the mugs on here that wanted Rio back?
I thought he said they had never been booked because that was when Pleat went into a long discussion about John Charles who had never been booked also?

Like I say, I found it hard to believe

*Not our John Charles, the one of Juventus fame

Re: So who were the mugs on here that wanted Rio back?
QPR's defence wasn't the problem on Sunday, it was the midfield that couldn't, or wouldn't do any running

LJC - So you really think he would have joined us to be 4th choice and to sit on the bench every week, and you're calling me a mug?? Hahahahaha.
